Friday Musings

* Mr. Marine and I celebrated the USMC Birthday in style last week. I know many wives dread spending money on dresses, hair, etc... I, however, L.O.V.E it more than anything! This year, I was going to do something I have never done before...wait...recycle a old ball gown. *Gasp*

Alas, I found this magnificent Tibi dress and fell in love. Deep "Iwilldiewithoutthisdress" kinda love. Mr. Marine, not wanting me to drop dead right there in the store, said he always wants to make me happy and would love to buy this dress, as well as any other Tibi items I wanted to add to my collection. Ok, actually he said, "Do what you want. I'll be at the bar across the street."

(side note: I hated my hair. I brought in a pic of a messy low chignon, a la Rachel Zoe, and the stylist did this... In the end, it grew on me but was definitely NOT part of my vision for this night)

* Mr. Marine and I are launching a preemptive strike against Thanksgiving calories. Yeah, I'm talking to you sweet potato casserole covered in candied pecans. Tomorrow, we will be freezing our rears off as we run the USMC Turkey Trot 10k. Brrrrrrrr.... On a happy note, I love the shirt they gave the participants so that makes up for my misery. Kinda. Not really. Wine will make up for it though.

* We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with some fellow Marine families. Love me some friends. Miss me some family. Such is life away from loved ones. I'll eat more of that aforementioned sweet potato casserole to make myself feel better.

* West By God Virginia...Yep, we're heading there the day after Turkey Day. This kidless couple loves traveling to college towns, going to football games and acting like the no responsibility people we currently are. So while our friends are doing kid stuff, we will be partying it up in Morgantown. Woop Woop!!!!

* If one of you could send "your wife needs a bigger shopping budget for stuff she may not 'need' but 'wants' anyways" vibes to Mr. Marine that'd be A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!!
